As
mentioned in the job description applicants will have to go through an open
competitive written examination so it’s important to know the Lower Division Clerks LDC Written exam
paper pattern, syllabus and type of questions. We are starting this post with
the scheme of written examination that contains the latest pattern for WB SSC
recruitment of Low Division Clerks.
Examination Pattern/Scheme of WBSSC LDC/LDA Recruitment 2013 Written Examination:
Date of Written Examination: Tentatively in Last week November 2013
Time allotted: Part I: 1.30 Hours and Paper II: 1 Hour.
Part 1: 100 multiple choice
objective type questions (MCQs) of 100 marks, comprising questions from English,
General Studies and Numerical Ability containing 30+40+30 marks/question
in each sections.
Part-II This section will carry
conventional (Descriptive) type question paper in that
(a) Group
–A: English Paper
(b) Group-B:
Bengali or Hindi or Urdu or Nepali language paper
Both Group
A and B will be of 50 Marks for each.
Important Note: Applicants who have taken Urdu,
Hindi or Nepali in lieu of Bengali in part II Group B will have to clear a Departmental
Examination in Bengali during probation period.
Syllabus of written examination of WBSSC LDC Recruitment 2013:
As
Job description has Madhyamik passing certificate as the minimum eligibility
criteria for the LDC posts so the examination shall be on the similar standard.
Still we are providing you the topic wise detailed syllabus for LDC/LDC Exam of
WBSSC.
Part 1: Objective Type 100 Marks Question Paper
- English: English basics and fundamentals like vocabulary related questions, sentence making/structuring, grammar. Synonyms and Antonyms and their usage. etc
- General Studies: This part will carry questions from daily observation based things like everyday science, current affairs and events related to India, Indian history and geography.
- Numerical Ability: Simple Interest, Divisibility, Decimals and Recurring Dec., Fractions, LCM/HCF, Percentage, Partnership, Proportion and Ratio, Average, P&L, Time & Space or Distance, Rectangle and Square Area
Part –II: Descriptive question paper of 100 marks.
GROUP – A:
ENGLISH LANGUAGE:
(a) Report
Drafting in English on the basis of material supplied or points given to write
upon.
(b) précis
passage condensing
(c) Translation
into English language.
GROUP – B :
BENGALI/ URDU/ HINDI/ NEPALI:

Drafting in language you chose to answer on the basis of material supplied or
points given to write upon

(c) Translation
