BARC recruitment of Scientific Officers 2014
Department of Atomic Energy(DAE) has introduced Bhabha Atomic Research Center Training School which is first of its type. Through this candidates will be selected to be become Scientific Officers. This will provide career in frontier areas of Engineering and Science, Design and development of Next Generation Reactors and associated Advanced Technologies. Who is eligible to apply ?
Candidates having a minimum of 60% aggregate in Qualifying degree would be eligible to apply.
For Engineering Graduates: B.Tech / B.E / B.Sc / 5 year Integrated M.Tech in Mechanical / Chemical / Metallurgy / Civil , Electrical / Electronics / Computer / Instrumentation / Engineering Physics & Food Technology.
For Science Post - Graduates: M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry Bio science, Geophysics, Applied Geophysics and M.Sc or equivalent M.Tech in Geology , Applied Geology or Applied Geography.

What After Training ? 
Candidates who will complete their training will be absorbed as  Scientific Officer in Group- A post of Government of India with a Pay band of Rs 15600 - 39100 + Grade Pay 5400.

What is Training all about ? 
Their is two scheme through which Training will be provided
OCES - 2014 (Scheme-I) : This is a 1 year Training Program for Engineering Graduates or Science Post Graduates. The training will be conducted at
BARC Training School located at Mumbai ,
Indra Gandhi Center of Atomic Research, Kalpakkam
Raja Ramanna Center of Advance Technology, Indore
Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad
Atomic Minerals Directorates, Hyderabad

DFGS-2014 (Scheme-II) : Under this scheme candidates will be proved 2 years Training, All the  Engineering Graduates (B.Tech / B.E / B.Sc - Engg.) or Physics Post Graduate (M.Sc) who have secured M.Tech / M.Chem. Engg. admission in 2014 in one of the following institutes in following discipline
IIT - Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati, Roorkee and BHU - Varanas
NIT Rourkela
Institute of Chemical Technology(ICT), Mumbai

What is selection Procedure ?  
Candidates will be selected based on two stages. In Primary Stage candidates will be screened either through GATE 2014 Scorecard or through Online Examination conducted by BARC which will be held in March 2014.
In the Secondary Stage, the selected or shortlisted candidates through Stage I has to pass through Interview which will be held in Mumbai or Hyderabad in May - June 2014.
